Prof. Hiroyuki Manabe and the research group published an article regarding odor-coding and integration of inputs processes in mouse brain
August 18, 2020
Hiroyuki Manabe (Associate Professor, Organization of Research Initiatives and Development), Kazuki Shiotani (Graduate School of Brain Science), Yoshio Sakurai (Professor, Graduate School of Brain Science) and the research group have become the first to find out that the ventral tenia tecta (vTT) plays an important role in odor-guided behaviors. This finding can contribute to further investigation in brain processing of olfactory information, and can be led to finding of the mechanism of smelling disorder caused by COVID-19.
The article about these findings have been published in eLife (published online 04 August 2020, doi: 10.7554/eLife.57268).
Research Group:
Hiroyuki Manabe (Associate Professor, Organization of Research Initiatives and Development)
Kazuki Shiotani (Graduate School of Brain Science)
Yuta Tanisumi (same as above)
Koshi Murata (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Fukui)
Junya Hirokawa (Associate Professor, Organization of Research Initiatives and Development)
Yoshio Sakurai (Professor, Graduate School of Brain Science)
