Interest in artificial intelligence (AI) is booming again due to recent advances in deep learning underpinned by powerful computer hardware and the availability of large and diverse data sets. Our mission is to develop AI technologies that can learn from multimedia, perform intellectual tasks, and collaborate with humans in meaningful ways. Our activities span basic and applied research, with a focus on machine learning, sensor networks, multimedia processing, and semantic analysis.
