Glycative Stress Research Center
Glycation is a non-enzymatic reaction between reducing sugars and proteins, which results in the formation and accumulation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), advanced glycation of proteins, and induction of receptor-mediated inflammation. Therefore, glycative stress is believed to be one of the risk factors affecting aging. This research center aims to establish a measurement method of a glycative stress marker and further the research based on the fundamental research on the mechanism of glycative stress with a view to developing anti-glycation agents in the future.
